Latest Upgrade in Facetime:
There are a lot of new features added to facetime including audio and video improvements. Now, you can use many more effects for the background. You can use the new grid option to get an idea of how many people can come into the video.
Moreover, you can choose between two options for the voices. The voice isolation, and wide spectrum options. These two options give much more control and customization options for facetime.
Everything Control:
Well, I should say the universal control. This feature seems cool to me. Because, we’ve iPads at our home, this feature makes it, even more, easier to use iPads with MacBooks.
You can scroll and drag and drop content between the two devices and can do much more. This feature is added in the macOS 12.3 version.
Improved Live Text:
Well AI is getting just better and better every day. With the new Live text, now you can copy and paste texts through the viewfinder and can easily add them anywhere you want like messages or notes.
Moreover, it also tries to analyze things automatically. For example, if it observes any number. It gives you an automatic option to call or message. Or if you get an address, it automatically provides the option for the map so that you can find that particular address.

Helping in focusing:
I have focus problems and usually start procrastinating during my work. And Apple has realized this. With the new improved Focus mode, you can much more options.
Now you can customize almost everything that can distract you during work like messages, notifications from games, and others.
You can even make different profiles for different occasions, which makes it easy to shift from the work environment to chilling and back to work with the time-ups.
The new shortcut apps:
Well, now you can access the Shortcut apps on macs as well. Before it was available on iPads and IOS only. But now, you can use it on mac too.
There are a lot of things you can do with it.
For example, you can use the Turn Off TV shortcut from your room on your Mac.
Apart from these updates, there are plenty of other things that you can explore in the new macOS Monterey. However, these were some of the features that I liked in the new operating system. Let’s see which you like.

The M1 Caveat:
There is unfortunately a caveat in the new macOS Monterey. There are a few features and options that are available to the systems having M1 chips only.
This might not be a good feeling for you just like me. But it was our responsibility to address you regarding this information.
Below are the lists of the features that I have observed don’t work on the systems having older chips.
- Spatial Audio with AirPods (third-generation), AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max
- Maps features, including the 3D interactive globe and detailed maps
- On-Device Dictation with offline processing
- FaceTime Portrait Mode
- Siri Text-to-Speech in additional languages
