Download and install VMware workstation:

  1. First, select RAM from the left panel menu. And you can alter the size of RAM for the virtual machine. We recommend you to keep 8GB of RAM for macOS Big Sur.
  2. After allocating the amount of RAM. Now go to the second option of processors. Here we recommend you select 4Cores fo CPU. However, the minimum size is 2Cores.
  3. Next, in the CD/DVD option, check the box of the ISO image file. Because we are going to use ISO file for installation. Then, hit the browse button, and select the macOS Big Sur ISO file from the folder in your computer, that you had installed earlier.

After choosing the ISO file, you can close and finish this step. Now, the creation of virtual machines has been concluded. What we need to do is implement the final step of the installation of macOS Big Sur on VMware workstation. But before, installation, it is important to add a code in the VMX file of macOS Big Sur.

Add code in macOS Big Sur VMX file:

  1. Go to the default folder of macOS Big Sur, which has been mentioned earlier during naming the guest OS. As you have not changed the default folder. So, navigate to Document > Virtual machine > macOS Big Sur.VMX. Right-click on the macOS Big Sur.VMX and run in notepad.
  2. Now, copy and paste the following code at the bottom of the codes. And then click Enter to save the code.

Install macOS 11 Big Sur on VMware:

Close and restart the VMware workstation. Then hit the option of power on this virtual machine.

  1. Wait for a while, until the apple logo appears, then select your language.
  2. Next, select the Disk Utility Option. And proceed.
  3. Now, select Erase from the top menu bar. And Erase Vmware virtual SATA hard drive media. And hit Done.
  4. Now, from the left corner click on disk utility. And select Quit Disk utility.
  5. Now, again from the options, select install macOS, and hit continue.

Further, just follow the onscreen instructions. That includes accepting terms and conditions, selecting country, OS language, signing in with the Apple ID, and so on.
